Return of the Mack: Biyombo's Double-Double Leads Hornets Over Suns (VIDEO)
Charlotte centers Willy Hernangomez and Bismack Biyombo combined to score 20 points and grab 26 rebounds as the Hornets' extended its winning streak to three games following a 135-115 win over the Phoenix Suns at Spectrum Center on Saturday night.
"I think Biz (Biyombo) was really big for us defensively on the board, he really anchored our defense," said coach James Borrego. "That's why he's been in this league so long, he's a presence at the rim, he's a presence at the board, when he rolls to the basket he commands some attention."
Biyombo finished with 11 points and a season-high 13 rebounds, his second double-double of the season.
"I think he's just trying to stay out of foul trouble, play vertical, not give up easy and-ones at the rim and I think he did a good job tonight."
Willy Hernangomez finished with nine points and 13 rebounds.
Eight Hornets players had 10-or-more points, including all five starters.
"I think in general guys were trying tonight," said Borrego. "I think overall a very good defensive game, got to be even better tomorrow night."
For the Suns, Devin Booker scored 32 points and dished out 11 assists.
Phoenix has lost 10 of its last 12 games. They're now 4-19 on the road.
The Hornets begin a three-game road trip against the Indiana Pacers.
