Carolina Panthers to use TopGolf to build comradery

Getting a break from the rigors of an NFL training camp have long been a way for coaches to build cohesiveness among their players. Bowling has been one of the most popular selection in previous eras. Now teams are turning to more innovative forms of entertainment like virtual laser tag.

The Carolina Panthers coaching staff wanted to keep it in the sports category. In a gesture to the players to reward all of their hard work which has been showing great signs of improvement, head coach Matt Rhule has arranged an outing for his team at TopGolf. "We're letting the vaccinated players go to TopGolf tonight," Rhule said.

"I told the players to go have fun ...they need a night away from us anyway."

No matter who comes out on top, Panthers' receiver Robby Anderson believes his off-season work on his golf game will pay off. "I got a little technique now so I should do pretty good," Anderson said.

Anderson may surprise some if he is able to hit the long-ball. But he'll have some competition from offensive lineman Pat Elflein who's drives will be powered by his 300 pound frame. "It's always fun to bond with your teammates and swing some clubs a little bit," Elflein told reporters. There should be some great stories about the long drive competition should one develop.

The Panthers will have one more day to button up their playbook before heading to Indianapolis for joint practice sessions with the Colts on Aug. 12-13 before facing them on Sunday Aug. 15.
