Dabo Swinney looks to take things up a notch in 2022

Dabo Swinney saw his team's string of six consecutive ACC titles broken last season and failed to make the CFB playoff for the first time since 2014. The Tigers are in the process of mounting a comeback with two new coordinators.

To start, the Tigers will have to drastically improve on their 5.2 yards per play average on offense. The likely candidate to help them turn that part of the game around is the leaner, meaner quarterback DJ Viagalelei who threw for 2, 246 yards, 9 touchdowns and ten interceptions last season. They will be tested early in the schedule with back-to-back matchups against Wake Forest and NC State.
