Hornets move within one game of eighth playoff Spot with 104-91 win over Pistons

The Charlotte Hornets (38-42) are keeping their playoff hopes alive thanks to Kemba Walker's high-scoring performance at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan on Sunday evening. The Detroit Piston's (39-41) had no answer for Walker's 20 first half points that put Charlotte up by 18 points headed into the half. Walker finished the game with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

In the second half, Charlotte remained in control with the help of Frank Kaminski's season-high 24 point effort which helped drive the Hornets to their third straight win.

The Hornet's finished with five players in double figures en route to their 104-91 victory over the Pistons despite Willy Hernangomez, Tony Parker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marvin Williams all sitting out.

With only two games left in the regular season, the Hornets trail the Pistons, who have lost four straight, for the eighth playoff spot by one game as they head to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

The Hornets home finale is Wednesday against the Orlando Magic.
