Kupchak, Hornets stick to plan and draft Ball with third pick
After a recent press conference with team General Manager Mitch Kupchak, many experts projected the Hornets would select LaMelo Ball with this year's pick. Kupchak talked about the likelihood that they would pick a younger player based on the areas the team needed to improve. "I will tell you that at number three we will probably end up drafting someone who is 19 or 20," Kupchak said.
Tonight the organization held true to that ideology drafting Ball with the third pick.
Ball, a 6-7 guard, played the 2019-20 season as a professional for the Illawarra Hawks. Now he brings his talents to Charlotte, NC to join a roster full of developing players.
