MIDWEEK REPORT: Panthers look to regain compsure against the Titans on Sunday

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera told reporters on Monday that Kyle Allen will remain the team's starting QB on Sunday when the Panthers host the Titans Allen continues to start in place of Cam Newton as he continues to rehab from a foot sprain suffered in the second game of the season. Allen led the Panthers to four straight victories before being derailed by the 49ers defense. Allen threw his first three career interceptions in the panthers third worse loss in franchise history. But the 51-13 loss at San Francisco on Sunday was not enough to dethrone Allen.

However, if Allen really wants to make strides, he's going to have to help improve what happens on third-down. The Panthers are ranked 27th (.320) in the league in converting them which is key in managing the game and keeping the defense off the field.

With regard to their upcoming opponent, the Tennessee Titans, Allen weighed in on what will get the team back in the win column. "We know our identity as an offense ...and we have to get back to our ways those last four weeks where we were executing really well," Allen said.

The Panthers defense also took a pounding against San Fran Cisco, failing to stop the run effectively which resulted in more than half of the 51 points scored by the 49ers. But many in the Panthers' locker room appear to be chalking it up to it being just one bad week in a long season. "We've got nine weeks of football so you can't let, you know, one game have us down,"Donte Jackson said.

The players have been rebounding from both the monumental loss to the 49ers and all signs point to a likely win against the titans on Sunday if Allen can maintain his composure.
