Terry Rozier spreads unique brand of Christmas cheer in Charlotte community
CHARLOTTE, NC – December 13, 2019 – Charlotte Hornets starting point guard Terry Rozier is proving that he is all-in with the Queen city. He recently began his efforts to reach the Charlotte community this holiday season. The details of Rozier's holiday efforts came in the following press release from the Hornets' organization.
Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier is wasting no time in giving back to his new community. Rozier and his 12 Blessings Foundation are hosting “12 Days of Terry Christmas” in an effort to bring the holiday spirit to Charlotte-based organizations and youth as part of the team’s Season of Giving.
During the “12 Days of Terry Christmas,” Rozier will provide donations that include clothing, food and school supplies to various organizations, in addition to experiences such as a pizza party and tickets to a Hornets game. The “12 Days of Terry Christmas” will culminate with Rozier making a surprise visit to a Charlotte family at their home, while bringing presents to celebrate the holiday. The 12 Days started on December 9 as Rozier provided the Salvation Army’s Center of Hope Women’s and Children’s Shelter with 5,000 pairs of socks. He then donated Hornets T-shirts to those at Veterans Bridge Home on December 10 and 100 blankets to the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte on December 11.
Rozier founded his 12 Blessings Foundation to use his platform to empower youth in disadvantaged urban areas by providing resources, mentoring and support and to cultivate confidence in youth in the areas of athletics, arts and education. Since the foundation’s inception, it has hosted winter coat drives, free basketball camps, Terry Christmas initiatives and basketball instruction tailored to students with disabilities.
“I’m excited to bring joy to Charlotte families and kids in my first Christmas season here,” said Rozier. “And getting to know, learn about and highlight so many great organizations here in Charlotte and how they serve different aspects of the community is just amazing to see. It’s a blessing for my family and me to brighten the holiday season with the platform basketball gives us.”
